MrBeast melts hearts after gifting disabled 12-year-old fan a one-of-a-kind bionic ‘Beast Arm’

MrBeast surprised 12-year-old Kai Pollnitz with a custom bionic “Beast Arm” after learning insurance would not cover a prosthetic. Partnering with Open Bionics, the YouTuber delivered the arm during a routine clinic visit. The gift helped Kai regain confidence after facing bullying and daily challenges at school.

The situation was subdued in a clinic in Texas, miles away the circus that surrounds the biggest creator of the internet. No crowds, no countdown clocks and no viral theatrics. Only a 12-year-old boy who was expecting to come to an ordinary appointment and an exception that was to change his everyday life. That fateful visit of late 2025 became something particularly personal and permanent. There was a lot of noise around MrBeast, but this act broke through it. It wasn’t about getting views or being shocking. It was about giving access, respect, and rebuilding trust at a time when a young fan needed it the most.

MrBeast surprises 12-year-old fan with custom bionic arm built just for him

Kai Pollnitz was born without a right hand, a reality that never stopped him from staying active or diving into video games. As he entered middle school, however, the attention shifted from curiosity to cruelty. “People usually try to tell me what I can’t do,” the 12-year-old said. His adoptive parents explored prosthetic options, but insurance coverage fell short. A crowdfunding attempt followed, yet progress stalled.MrBeast’s team learned about Kai’s story, and that changed things. The YouTuber worked with Open Bionics to make a fully customized bionic arm that fit his style perfectly. The unique prosthetic has bright blue and pink accents and the creator’s panther logo, which gives it both style and function.Kai believed he was heading to a standard checkup in December. Instead, MrBeast walked into the room with the finished arm in hand. The shock was instant and overwhelming. “He kept whispering, ‘Mama, is this real? Is that really MrBeast?’” his adoptive mother, Charlotte Pollnitz, recalled. It was not just technology that I received in the gift; there was something else of a less quantifiable nature. It provided Kai with freedom, attention and evidence that somebody noticed his plight and took action. This was a unique moment in a number world since it was people first.
