JAMMU: Poonch Police Sunday arrested a 60-year-old man for allegedly posting inflammatory content on social media and threatening public order and communal harmony. Cops issued an advisory, warning citizens against uploading or circulating similar content online and requesting them to exercise restraint while expressing views on social media.Police said the accused, Onkar Singh, a resident of Kamsar area in Poonch city, had uploaded an “offensive” social media post which hurt public sentiments, leading to “widespread resentment” among members of a particular community.“Considering the seriousness and sensitivity of the matter, Poonch Police promptly arrested the accused, who is currently in police custody. Legal proceedings have been initiated against him under relevant sections of the law, and further investigation is underway to ascertain all aspects of the case,” an official said.“Posting or sharing content that is provocative, misleading, or offensive can attract serious legal consequences,” the official said.
