Another shooting involving federal law enforcement has reportedly taken place in Minneapolis amid the Donald Trump administration’s immigration crackdown, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said on Saturday. The incident occurred at the intersection of East 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue.Governor Walz said he had spoken to the White House following the shooting and strongly criticised the federal operation. “I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it,” he posted on X.”This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now,” he added, targeting President Donald Trump.Video footage circulating online appears to show federal agents struggling with a man moments before a shot was fired. Authorities have not yet released details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The suspect was armed with a gun and two magazines, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told Fox News.In a statement on X, the city of Minneapolis said, “We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details. We ask the public to remain calm and avoid the immediate area.”The latest incident comes amid daily protests in the Twin Cities following the January 7 shooting of 37-year-old Renee Good, who was killed when an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer fired into her vehicle during a federal crackdown operation in south Minneapolis.Good was inside her SUV in a residential neighbourhood south of downtown when the shooting occurred. Officials said the incident happened during a tense confrontation as unmarked law enforcement vehicles moved through the area.Good was the mother of a six-year-old child and also had two other children who, according to family members, lived with extended relatives. Her death has sparked protests, political debate and calls for accountability across the United States.More details are awaited…
