Breaking News: Patna NEET Student Case Delayed, Forensic Panel Awaits Crucial SIT Papers

n a major development in the Patna NEET student death case, Dr. Vinay Kumar, head of the Forensic Department at AIIMS Patna, has raised serious concerns about the investigation process. Speaking to the media, he stated that the forensic team has received only partial and incomplete documents from the Special Investigation Team (SIT), causing delays in preparing a conclusive report. Dr. Kumar explained that the AIIMS forensic panel, consisting of five senior doctors including heads of Neurosurgery, Gynecology, and Radiology, is examining all available documents. However, crucial files are still awaited, which are essential for forming a complete medical opinion. He emphasized that if further expertise is required, additional specialists will be involved with approval from the AIIMS director. The forensic chief’s statement has cast a shadow over the SIT’s handling of the case, raising questions about transparency and potential lapses in the investigation. Families of the deceased student have previously expressed concerns over SIT’s approach, alleging delays and obstructions. With critical documents pending, the forensic team is unable to deliver a final report, prolonging uncertainty in this sensitive case.
