Barron Trump called UK police after FaceTime assault; woman says call saved her

Stop being rude: British operator to Barron Trump as POTUS son reported attack on woman

Barron Trump, the youngest son of US President Donald Trump, alerted British emergency services after allegedly witnessing a violent assault on a woman during a FaceTime call, a London court has heard. The 19-year-old dialled 999 from the United States in the early hours of January 18, 2025, after seeing the woman being attacked by her ex-boyfriend at an East London address. A recording of the call was played before jurors at Snaresbrook Crown Court. In the call, Barron urgently told the operator, “It’s really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up.” When he appeared frustrated while answering questions, the operator rebuked him, saying: “Can you stop being rude and actually answer my questions… If you want to help the person, you’ll answer my questions clearly and precisely.”Barron then explained how he knew the woman and apologised for his tone, telling the operator: “I met her on social media. She’s getting really badly beat up and the call was about eight minutes ago, I don’t know what could have happened by now.” He later added: “So sorry for being rude,” before providing the address.

.

Jurors also heard Barron’s account of what he saw on the video call. “She called me. I picked up the phone expecting a nice hello or something. I just saw a ceiling and could hear screaming,” he said.“I could see a guy’s head on the phone, and then the camera turns to her crying and getting hit.”He told police the call lasted between 10 and 15 seconds before it disconnected, prompting him to contact emergency services.“I called you guys, that was the best thing I could do,” he said. “I wasn’t going to call back and threaten things to him because that would just make the situation worse.”According to MyLondon, police later arrived at the address and questioned the woman, who told officers: “I am friends with Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s son.” One officer was heard telling a colleague, “So apparently this informant from America is likely to be Donald Trump’s son.”The woman later told the court that Trump’s intervention had helped save her life, saying: “He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment.”The accused, 22-year-old former MMA fighter Matvei Rumiantsev, has denied charges including assault, rape, intentional strangulation and perverting the course of justice. The trial is currently underway.
