Breaking News: Yogi Adityanath Issues Strong Message Amid Avimukteshwaranand Row, Warns Against “Kalnemi Forces”

Amid the continuing controversy involving Jyotirmath Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a strong and pointed statement, underlining the primacy of religion and nation over personal interests. Without naming anyone directly, the Chief Minister said that a true saint considers religion and the nation as supreme, and has no attachment to personal property. “Dharma is the only wealth of a saint and the nation is his self-respect,” Yogi Adityanath stated. He further warned that there are “many Kalnemi-like forces” who, under the guise of religion, are conspiring to weaken Sanatan Dharma. Stressing the need for vigilance, he said society must remain alert against those who challenge national pride or attempt to disrupt religious traditions. Referring to the ongoing Magh Mela, the Chief Minister clarified that it is not the Kumbh, yet on Mauni Amavasya alone, nearly 4.5 crore devotees took a holy dip at the Sangam. Yogi Adityanath emphasized that it is the government’s responsibility to protect religious traditions, ensure the sanctity and uninterrupted flow of holy rivers, and prevent any act that pollutes or disrupts them. His remarks come at a time when tensions remain high between the administration and the Shankaracharya, with no visible resolution yet in sight.
