Ashton Kutcher shuts down viral bathing rumor with humor

Ashton Kutcher shuts down the internet’s oddest rumor and breaks his silence on the viral bathing debate

Ashton Kutcher just shut down one of Hollywood’s weirdest lingering rumors with a laugh and a straight talk. Nearly five years after he and Mila Kunis sparked a firestorm over their family’s bathing habits, the actor says people totally twisted their words into something wild.

How the rumor took off

It all started back in July 2021 on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. Kunis shared how she grew up without consistent hot water in Ukraine and didn’t bathe her newborns daily. Kutcher chimed in, saying he washes his armpits and intimate areas every day with a trusty bar of Lever 2000, but skips the rest unless he sees dirt. Kunis added she cleans her face twice a day. Simple chat about routines, right? Clips went viral, and suddenly everyone assumed the couple never showers.

Ashton Kutcher sets it straight

Fast forward to this week. Talking to People magazine while promoting his new ‘The Beauty,’ the 47-year-old called it the craziest thing ever. People started asking if he stinks, he said with a chuckle, “I shower, I hit the gym, I shower again.” His co-stars Anthony Ramos and Jeremy Pope backed him up, with Ramos joking, “I can confirm my boy showers.”Instead of getting mad, Kutcher and Kunis leaned into the absurdity. They dropped a hilarious TikTok weeks later, filming in their bathroom as Kunis ran a bath for the kids. Kutcher played it up, yelling dramatically about destroying their natural body oils with too much water. Fourth time this week, he fake whined, while Kunis played along. The video showed they knew the buzz and didn’t sweat it.

Upcoming movie

Ashton Kutcher dives into FXs ‘The Beauty’ as a tech billionaire peddling a beauty drug with deadly twists, which premiered January 21 on Hulu and Disney+. Fresh off debunking those silly shower rumors with Mila Kunis, the couple balances family life while Kutcher rocks villain mode alongside Evan Peters and Rebecca Hall. Their real-life chemistry fuels fan excitement for this thriller.
