Jiiva’s comedy drama ‘Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil’ is enjoying a steady box office run, nearing the Rs 20 crore mark after its first week. The film, directed by Nithish Sahadev, explores themes of male ego, with actress Prathana Nathan highlighting her character’s pivotal role and her approach to selecting roles that resonate with her instincts.

‘Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil’ is having a good and calm run at the box office. The Jiiva starrer comedy drama has finished its first six days with a solid total of Rs 17.75 crore India net.The film earned around Rs 1.00 crore India net on day 7 as per early estimates provided by the Sacnilk website.The total collection now stands at Rs 18.75 crore. The film is slowly moving closer to the Rs 20 crore mark and that itself is a good sign for a film like this.

Day wise collection trend

‘TTT’ collected Rs 1.65 crore with a big drop of nearly 68 percent on day 5. It earned Rs 1.25 crore on the very next day and this shows a smaller fall. On Day 7 the film collected Rs 1.00 crore.

Occupancy details on day 7

‘Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil’ recorded an overall Tamil occupancy of 15.37 percent on day 7. Morning shows had a lower start with 10.06 percent occupancy. Afternoon shows picked up to 16.79 percent. Evening shows stayed decent at 15.26 percent. Night shows did the best with 19.37 percent occupancy.

Prathana’s Nathan opens up

‘Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil’ is directed by Nithish Sahadev, who earlier made the Malayalam film ‘Falimy’. This is his first Tamil film. The movie stars Jiiva, Prathana Nathan, and Thambi Ramaiah in important roles.Talking to The New Indian Express, Prathana said, “Everybody has their own approach to cinema and acting. But beyond portraying Sowmiya, I wanted to be her and experience going through her emotions.” She also explained how she chooses her roles. “When a director is telling a story there is a feeling of rush, but it is the gut instinct that reaffirms my confidence in being able to pull off a character,” she said. Prathana added, “Be it Love Today, Parking, or Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil, I chose to essay those characters because, beyond liking them, I was comfortable with portraying them.”The story talks about male ego, with characters played by Jiiva, Ilavarasu, and Thambi Ramaiah.
