‘Rich woman buying poor woman’s womb’: Internet reacts to Meghan Trainor having baby with surrogate

In a heartwarming update, pop sensation Meghan Trainor and her spouse, actor Daryl Sabara, joyfully announced the arrival of their third child, baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor, born via surrogate on January 18, 2026. Overflowing with gratitude for their dedicated surrogate and medical staff, the couple celebrated their family’s growth.

Pop star Meghan Trainor and actor Daryl Sabara have welcomed their third child, a daughter, via surrogate. The couple announced on Instagram on January 20 that their baby girl, Mikey Moon Trainor, arrived on January 18, 2026.“Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate,” Trainor wrote. She added: “We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible. We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family.”Trainor also said: “We are over the moon in love with this precious girl. Riley and Barry have been so excited, they even got to choose her middle name. We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all.”However, the news was not met with enthusiasm by social media, which accused Meghan of using surrogacy as a means to have a baby.

Social media reactions:

  • The concept of a rich woman buying a poor woman’s womb then holding the baby in her arms and crying as if she had given birth herself. Nobody can convince me that this isn’t diabolical. I have no respect for any of this
  • We don’t hate Hollywood buying other women’s bodies as vessels enough.
  • So the human trafficker bought a baby and now she’s posing like she was the one who gave birth to her?
  • Did she wear the hospital gown and lay in bed grunting for 13 hours for photo ops too?
  • Why is she acting like she did the job of pushing this beauty out?
  • All this “outsourcing” by rich people is getting crazy.

I get it if you absolutely can’t have kids, but now they’re just exploiting women who need the money. The couple are married since 2018 and are already parents to two sons, Riley, 4, and Barry, 2. Trainor, 32, and Sabara, 33, have long wanted a large family. In a 2021 interview, Trainor said, “I’m ready for three more kids!” She also shared in 2023 that “Each kid’s going to bring a new version of me that I think is going to be bad**s — so I need four, at least!”In February 2025, Trainor shared her experience of becoming a mother and her hopes for a daughter. “Where I am right now is far beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of. I always wanted a family. Check. Now I need some daughters.”
