Indian man killed in road accident in US when he was walking outside his car; used to play cricket for North Carolina team

35-year-old Arun K Sandram, an Indian man in the US, was killed in an accident on I-40 eastbound in Raleigh when he was outside his vehicle. The accident took place Sunday around 10.50 pm when Sandram was hit and killed by another driver. The other driver was not seriously injured, and there was no alcohol involved. As the Railegh police investigate the accident, it remains unclear why Sandram parked his car and walked outside. Sandram moved to the US recently with his wife Shiva Lakshmi. He was a part of the North Carolina Cricket League team. Sandram’s friend and teammate Sandeep Machikatla set up a fundraiser to help the family during the present crisis. “He was more than just a teammate — he was a true warrior, a passionate lover of cricket, and an inspiration to everyone around him. On the field, he gave everything he had in batting, bowling, and fielding. Off the field, he was a constant source of encouragement, always pushing us to give one step more — not just in the game, but in life. His energy, positivity, and fighting spirit touched every one of us,” the fundraiser said. “His untimely passing has left an irreplaceable void in our hearts. He leaves behind his wife, Shiva Lakshmi, who recently moved to the United States and now faces this unimaginable loss and journey alone,” it said.
