L 366: Tharun Moorthy confirms Mohanlal reunion

Tharun Moorthy reunites with Mohanlal for ‘L 366’: Here’s all what we know

Celebrated superstar Mohanlal is gearing up to join forces with the talented director Tharun Moorthy for an intriguing project tentatively named ‘L 366’. The script has seen numerous updates, and to mark the official start of production, a lively switch-on ceremony was held. Mohanlal is expected to begin filming on January 23rd, with scenic Thodupuzha as a major filming hub.

It’s official! Tharun Moorthy is reuniting with superstar Mohanlal after their blockbuster ‘Thudarum’! The director has announced the working title of their upcoming film!

Mohanlal-Tharun Moorthy’s film ‘L 366’

In a post shared on Instagram on Saturday, January 17, Tharun Moorthy confirmed his collaboration with Mohanlal. “Yes, it’s officially #L366,” the director said. He also shared a photograph of the completed script. A note that accompanied the photograph hints that the makers have done one too many revisions to perfect the script. “Write. Rewrite. Write. Rewrite. Finally locked… to rewrite once again,” the caption read. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the upcoming film is scripted by Ratheesh Ravi, known for his previous works ‘Pullikaran Stara’ featuring Mammootty, and films like ‘Ishq,’ ‘Adi,’ and ‘Alappuzha Jimkhana.’ ‘L 366’ is backed by the production banner that has earlier delivered the gripping Kunchacko Boban starrer thriller ‘Anjaam Pathiraa’, and Tovino Thomas’ ‘Thallumaala’.

‘L 366’ puja ceremony

On Friday, January 16, the makers of ‘L 366’, including director Tharun Moorthy, officially commenced the production, with a switch-on ceremony at Vaikom Mahadeva temple. Tharun Moorthy shared the picture of the switch-on ceremony; however, Mohanlal wasn’t present. The actor will join the team when the film goes on floors on January 23. “Every film of mine begins at Vaikom Mahadeva Temple. My art, my writing — everything was born here. There is no greater bliss than starting again from this sacred place. Officially from January 23. Switch on. Let’s roll. #L,” Tharun Moorthy said in a cryptic note on Friday. The cast and crew of the film have not yet announced. However, multiple unconfirmed reports suggest that National award-winning actor Meera Jasmine has roped in as the leading lady in the film. Thodupuzha, where Mohanlal has filmed his ‘Drishyam’ franchise, is said to be the main location of ‘L 366’.

Tharun Moorthy’s next

Meanwhile, Tharun Moorthy has also announced another film, ‘Operation Cambodia’, featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role. In October 2025, the director announced the film. “Back on the hunt, resuming where we paused in 2021. Truly excited to welcome @therealprithvi into the new OPJ franchise – Operation Cambodia. It feels like coming home, reuniting with @lukman_avaran @balu__varghese , @binupappu , @prasanthpalex , @irshadaliofficial , @deepak_vijayann and others.” Go to Source
