Sophie Turner recently opened up about a health and shared that during her rigorous preparation for a high-profile role in ‘Tomb Raider,’ she faced challenges. The actress, best known as Sansa Stark from ‘Game of Thrones’, shared the details in an interview on Intense training for the ‘ Tomb Raider’ series brought to light a chronic back condition she had never suspected.
Training intensity
Turner committed to a demanding schedule to embody Lara Croft. She trained eight hours daily-five days a week, starting in February 2025. The process proved challenging, particularly without prior fitness experience. “I’ve learned I have a perpetual back problem,” Turner said on The Julia Cunningham Show. “But I also realized that it’s much easier to build muscle if you’ve ever worked out before in your life, which I never had, so it has taken me months and months and months to get into good shape. That’s what I’ve learned.”She contrasted this with her past roles. “I also just was the one that got beat up, not the one doing the beating,” Turner added on the same show. “So it’s quite nice to learn how to throw a punch and not just take it!”

First-look images reveal her channeling Croft’s classic 1990s look with teal tank top, shorts, holsters, ponytail, and red-tinted sunglasses.
