‘Racial profiling’: ICE agent demands man’s documents 'because of his accent' in viral video

In a shocking viral clip, ICE agents are seen apprehending a man, with the leading officer attributing the detention to the man’s ‘accent.’ Tensions rise quickly as the man challenges the agent’s reasoning, resulting in a chaotic physical scuffle.

A viral video showing a man being confronted and forcibly restrained by ICE agents because of his ‘accent’ has stirred a row, with social media accusing officers of racial profiling.Footage posted on X shows at least four immigration officers questioning a man and demanding to see his documents. Later, a lead agent wearing an army-style uniform and with his face covered demand’s the man’s paperwork. When the man asks why he is being stopped, the agent replies, “Because of your accent.”The exchange becomes tense when the man points out that the agent also appears to have an accent. This seems to anger the officer, who becomes more aggressive and demands to know where the man was born.

Election Results

Moments later, the agent shouts, “put your hands behind your back,” before grabbing the man and slamming him against a nearby garage door, forcing his hands behind him as if to apply handcuffs. Earlier in the confrontation, the agent can be heard saying, “Look sir, are you going to do this the easy way or are we going to take you in?” When the man responds, “You can not take me in,” the agent replies, “Yes I can. Yes I can. You have documentation?”The man says he has documentation and again asks why he is being targeted, then the agent repeats, “Because of your accent.” One social media user wrote: “This is straight-up racial profiling: ICE demanding papers from a US citizen solely because of his accent is unconstitutional, un-American, and outright fascist.”Another user said: “He didn’t like him asking the same question back !!!!”Another sarcastically said, “We can thank the Trump supporters on the Supreme Court for giving these thugs carte blanche to stop and threaten anyone they want.”
