‘Gandhi Talks’ teaser: Vijay Sethupathi film breaks conventions

'Gandhi Talks' teaser: Vijay Sethupathi film breaks conventions in silence, promises thought-provoking cinema

A new film, ‘Gandhi Talks’, starring Vijay Sethupathi, is set to be a unique cinematic experience. This silent movie uses powerful visuals and emotions to convey its message. The teaser highlights the influence of money and contrasts it with Gandhi’s principles. AR Rahman’s music adds depth to the narrative. The film will release on January 30.

‘Gandhi Talks’, which features Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Aditi Rao Hydari, and more, is certainly going to be one of the most extraordinary films in recent times. The silent movie is directed by Kishore Pandurang Belekar, who has made the film as an experiment. It does not follow the usual format and norm of expressing ideas and opinions through dialogues. Instead, the film silently conveys experiences and ideas in a new tone and manner, with more emphasis on visual images, thoughts, and emotions in terms of thrilling emotions and relevant issues of the time. Furthermore, Siddharth Jadhav also has an essential role in the film, which spices up the movie more.

‘Gandhi Talks’ Teaser

The new teaser of ‘Gandhi Talks’ draws attention for what it does not say. Released on Vijay Sethupathi’s birthday, the teaser is a wordless one, becoming a thriller to watch with its intense visuals and propelling silences. Currency notes with Gandhi’s face appear time and again, moving through various shady transactions that highlight the power of money. The silence intensifies the viewer’s mindset, making them interpret the pause in the frames, and reminds them of how Gandhi’s principles clash with today’s world.

‘Gandhi Talks’ music by AR Rahman

The teaser has no dialogue but isn’t quite mute either. The brilliant AR Rahman, who scored the music, has given us a narrator as well by drawing attention to the silences and dissonance. Sethi plays a loser, who makes a living by dressing up, and we see him with Hydari, who could be his love interest, which lends a personal touch to the socio-political content. Arvind Swami’s presence comes across as profound, and one anticipates future upheaval, struggle, and dilemmas that the characters might have to make.

More about ‘Gandhi Talks’

Announced in 2021 and completed in 2022, ‘Gandhi Talks’ is all set to create noise even before its official run. The film is the first silent Indian film to premiere at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), 2023, with actor Vijay Sethupathi, pointing out the differences between the Gandhi on the currency note and the one that people want you to believe in. The film will have a theatrical run on January 30, coinciding with Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary. The film ‘Gandhi Talks’ is a must-watch in theatres that will make you deep in thoughts and listen. Go to Source
