Virat-Anushka buy Alibaug plot for Rs 37 crore

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma splurge Rs 37.86 crore on 5.1 acre Alibaug property

Alibaug got a little more glitzy with another celebrity couple moving into the neighbourhood. Actor Anushka Sharma and Indian cricketer Virat Kohli have reportedly shelled out the big bucks to purchase property in Alibaug. According to the latest reports, the star couple, who were seen heading to the coastal belt during their brief visit last month, have now reportedly sealed the deal on their plush new getaway.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma buy land in Alibaug

As per reports on LiveMint, the actress and her cricketer husband have purchased a 5.1 acre plot of land for an estimated Rs 37.86 crore, reveal property registration documents. The land parcel, reportedly, located in Zirad village, was bought from Sonali Amit Rajput, a director at Samira Land Assets Pvt. Ltd. The transaction, reportedly covering two adjoining plots, was registered on January 13, data analytics firm CRE Matrix confirmed.

Virat Kohli’s brother completes formalities

A stamp duty of approximately Rs 2.27 crore was paid. As per the report, Virat’s brother, Vikas Kohli, completed the formalities on his behalf. This comes months after the couple reportedly granted General Power of Attorney (GPA) to manage his property in the country, including his Rs 80 crore Gurugram mansion. At the time, the report fueled speculation about the couple’s permanent move to the UK with their children Akaay and Vamika.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma invest in land in Alibaug

This multi-crore deal marks the couple’s second major investment in Alibaug. In 2022, Sharma and Kohli acquired nearly eight acres through two separate deals worth Rs 19.24 crore from real estate developer Samira Habitats. They have since constructed a luxury vacation home on that land.

Bollywood celebs who own land in Alibaug

Over the past years, Alibaug has increasingly attracted high-profile celebrity buyers. Actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh purchased a luxury bungalow in Mapgaon in 2021 for around Rs 22 crore. The plot is reportedly within a 10 km distance from Anushka and Virat’s new purchase. Meanwhile, Suhana Khan also followed in her father, Shah Rukh Khan’s footsteps and bought a 1.5-acre property with three houses in Thal village in 2023 for an estimated price tag of Rs 12.91 crore. Fellow Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma also reportedly owns a 4-acre plot in the area, which he purchased in 2021 in his wife Ritika Sajdeh’s name. Go to Source
