Breaking: Tej Pratap Yadav Hosts Dahi Chura Bhoj in Patna, Lalu Prasad and Governor Attend Amid Political Speculations

Bihar witnessed its annual political and cultural tradition as Tej Pratap Yadav hosted the iconic Dahi Chura Bhoj on the occasion of Makar Sankranti at his Patna residence. The event, a hallmark of the Yadav family since the 1990s, saw the presence of former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap’s younger brother Tejashwi Yadav, and the Governor of Bihar, Arif Mohammad Khan. Traditionally organized by Lalu Prasad Yadav himself, this year the celebration has been taken forward by his elder son Tej Pratap, who appears keen on carrying forward his father’s legacy in his own style. The gathering reportedly included prominent state political figures, including leaders from the NDA and other political circles. Bihar’s political analysts suggest the timing of the event may have strategic significance. With Makar Sankranti historically marking a period of political maneuvering in the state, there is speculation that Tej Pratap could take a major political decision soon, potentially enhancing his ties with the NDA. Over the years, the Dahi Chura Bhoj has served as a platform where political alliances are subtly tested, formed, or reshaped. While the festival maintains its cultural and familial essence, it also continues to play a key role in Bihar’s political narrative. This year’s event reinforced Tej Pratap’s position in state politics while honoring his father’s long-standing tradition.
