Jessica Simpson rules out ‘Bachelorette’ role at LAX

Singer Jessica Simpson shuts down ‘Bachelorette’ rumors, chooses love her way

Jessica Simpson keeps her love life firmly off reality TV screens. The 45-year-old singer set the record straight at LAX when asked about rumors linking her to ‘The Bachelorette’. Following her January 2025 split from Eric Johnson, speculation swirled that the former ‘Newlyweds’ star might lead the ABC dating show. Simpson laughed off the idea with confidence.“I have options. I’m good,” she told TMZ. When reporters noted her star power could deliver huge ratings, Simpson stayed firm. “No, I don’t care about that,” she replied. The Nashville native, known for hits like “With You” and “Irresistible,” prefers handling romance on her own terms rather than under camera lights. Her stance echoes a deliberate shift away from the reality TV spotlight that defined her early 2000s fame.

Dating life on her terms

Simpson opened up about her post-divorce adventures last October with Extra. “I think I’m into younger men at the moment,” she shared. “When you’re newly separated, younger guys kinda like the confidence of an older woman. I’m discovering that. I’m having fun!” The mother of three, Maxwell (13), Ace (12), and Birdie (6), balances dating with committed co-parenting. She and Johnson presented a united front at sister Ashlee Simpson Ross’s Las Vegas show in September, proving family stays first. Johnson remains part of holiday traditions and birthdays to keep their bond strong with the kids. Simpson stressed unconditional love in a December TMZ interview. “No matter what, your kid is half that person,” she explained. “Have respect for what you brought around so they can always look back on it fondly.” Recent family vacation photos and Eric’s 2023 birthday tribute show lingering warmth amid separation.

Bigger plans ahead

Simpson focuses on music, fashion, and a multi-part documentary about her journey. She’s right now looking for collaborations with Ryan Murphy while reconnecting with fans through raw storytelling. From ‘Newlyweds’ icon to empowered mom, Jessica charts her path forward without needing rose ceremonies.
