Maharashtra Civic Polls: CM Devendra Fadnavis Leads Bike Rally in Nagpur on Final Day of Campaigning

Political activity peaked across Maharashtra as campaigning for the civic body elections entered its final day, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis taking personal charge of the campaign in his home turf, Nagpur. Fadnavis, riding a motorcycle and wearing a helmet, led a high-energy bike rally through city streets, drawing large crowds of party workers and supporters who welcomed him with flower showers and slogans. Nagpur, considered a stronghold of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Chief Minister’s home district, witnessed massive enthusiasm as Fadnavis spearheaded the campaign on the last day before the poll silence comes into effect at 6 pm. Roads were decorated in advance, and supporters lined the streets to greet the Chief Minister as he passed through key areas. Across the state, all major political parties intensified outreach efforts, showcasing strength through rallies, roadshows, and public demonstrations. In Mumbai, political activity was equally charged, with workers from various parties taking to the streets for last-minute campaigning ahead of voting scheduled for January 15. Results will be declared on January 16. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, in particular, are being viewed as a litmus test for major political formations, including the BJP and the Thackeray factions. As the countdown to polling begins, Maharashtra’s urban political landscape is set for a decisive verdict from voters.
