Panic gripped parts of the national capital late at night after unidentified assailants opened fire outside a gym in West Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. According to eyewitnesses, two miscreants arrived on a motorcycle, fired multiple rounds outside the gym, and fled the spot immediately. Upon receiving information about the firing, Delhi Police rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. Several empty cartridges were recovered from the spot, which have been taken into custody for forensic examination. Police are also scrutinising CCTV footage from the area to identify the attackers and trace their escape route. Meanwhile, a social media post claiming responsibility for the attack has gone viral, allegedly issued in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. However, police officials have stated that no official confirmation has been made regarding the authenticity of this claim, and it remains under verification. The firing took place outside RK Fitness Gym, reportedly linked to a person named Rohit Khatri. Police have cordoned off the area and marked the spots where bullet shells were found as part of the investigation. Authorities suspect the involvement of an organised crime syndicate, possibly operated by gang members based abroad. Security has been tightened in the area as the investigation continues, while police assure that all angles, including gang rivalry and extortion threats, are being thoroughly examined.
