INDORE: A 64-year-old resident of Bhagirathpura area in Indore, which has been in the eye of a storm over the water contamination fatalities, died at a private hospital on Monday. However, local authorities did not attribute the death to the diarrhoea outbreak in the locality. Hospital sources said Bhagwandas died of multi-organ failure after a 10-day battle. “The patient was first admitted to Shalby Hospital with complaints of vomiting and diarrhoea. He was later shifted to Bombay Hospital due to critical blood sugar levels and other illnesses,” CMHO Dr Madhav Hasani said. Hospital director Rahul Parashar said the patient suffered from gangrene and multiple organ failure, and succumbed after a cardiac arrest. As per health bulletin issued Monday, 39 people still remain hospitalised.
