Vivek praises ‘Dhurandhar’, compares it to ‘Animal’ after it becomes the highest grossing film

Vivek Oberoi praises 'Dhurandhar' after it becomes the highest grossing Hindi movie, compares it to 'Animal': 'It has not just pushed the envelope but ripped it apart'

Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ has scripted history by emerging as the highest-earning Hindi film of all time, with its net India collection crossing the collection of ‘Pushpa 2, which had amassed Rs 830 crore. As the film continues its remarkable run, actor Vivek Oberoi has shared an impassioned review, drawing comparisons with Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’.Taking to his X account, Vivek posted a detailed note praising ‘Dhurandhar’ for its direction, execution, editing, and performances. Describing the impact of the film, he wrote, “This is more than cinema; it is the jarring shock of a switch being flicked in a pitch-black room.”

Dhurandhar’s Success Forces Bollywood To Rewrite Rules

He went on to say that Dhurandhar confronts a reality few are willing to face. Vivek reflected on the suffocating silence inside the homes of martyrs, spaces filled with memories but marked by absence, where history weighs heavy and countless unnamed sacrifices have shaped a peaceful present. The actor also spoke about the film’s deeply affecting moments involving children who know their fathers only through framed photographs. He noted that while outrage might come easily to those distant from such experiences, for many, the film is simply a mirror to their everyday truth. Praising director Aditya Dhar, Vivek said the filmmaker doesn’t merely tell a story but allows it to bleed on screen, challenging viewers to look away even for a moment during its 3 hours and 34 minutes runtime.Drawing a parallel with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, which stirred strong reactions in 2023, Vivek wrote, “This cinematic brilliance shines through the lens of a director who is devoted not to spectacle, but to the craft itself. Every frame casting a spell on the viewer, every character etched out masterfully. A film that has not just pushed the envelope but ripped it apart just like Animal did in 2023.”He also highlighted the cast’s fearless commitment, noting that every performance exists in service of the story. Vivek observed that Ranveer Singh brings a controlled, warm intensity to his role, proving that silence can often resonate louder than overt emotion.Commenting on Akshaye Khanna’s performance, he said the actor dominates the screen through the power of his eyes, the restraint of his smile, and the chilling intensity of the ‘Kasainuma’ violence, making the Dakait an unforgettable character. He further added, “@ActorMadhavan is the intellectual steel, the calm eye within a lethal storm, the patriotic mastermind who I am so excited to see in Part 2. My legendary brother @duttsanjay and @rampalarjun bring a weathered, granite-like gravity that makes the shadows of the frontlines feel tangible,” he penned Go to Source
