Delhi News: MCD Removes Encroachment Near Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque After Stone Pelting, Area Secured

Delhi witnessed a tense situation late at night as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), with police support, carried out an encroachment removal drive near the Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque. According to officials, the operation faced initial resistance in the form of stone pelting when MCD and police teams reached the site. However, the situation was swiftly brought under control due to prompt police intervention and coordinated efforts on the ground. MCD officials stated that once law and order was restored, heavy machinery was deployed and the anti-encroachment operation continued for nearly six hours. Authorities clarified that no MCD personnel or officers were injured during the incident and that the entire team remained safe throughout the operation, receiving full assistance from the police. Importantly, officials emphasized that no damage was caused to the mosque. The religious structure was neither demolished nor disturbed in any manner. The action was strictly limited to removing illegal constructions in the surrounding area. In total, over 36 square feet of encroached land was cleared, while the remaining 1.95 acres identified as the mosque’s protected area remains intact and secure. Authorities reiterated that the action was carried out in compliance with court directions and appealed for calm, stating that misinformation regarding damage to religious structures was unfounded.
