Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda 2’ is set for its digital premiere on Netflix on January 9, following its theatrical run. Despite mixed reviews, the film, a collaboration with director Boyapati Srinu, is inching towards the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office, with Thaman’s music and Balakrishna’s screen presence being highlights.

‘Akhanda 2’ was Nandamuri Balakrishna’s fourth collaboration with director Boyapati Srinu. The first part of Balayya’s film received good reviews. The sequel was met with mostly mixed reviews. Thaman’s music was said to be one of the positive factors along with Balayya’s screen presence which hooked the audience.

Box office slows down

‘Akhanda 2′ is now moving very slowly at the box office. The film collected around Rs 25 lakhs in India net on day 23. This was the same number it earned on Day 22 as well. The total India net collection has now reached Rs 93.65 crores. The film had earned around Rs 93.40 crores after 22 days according to reports by the Sacnilk website. The third-week collection stood at Rs 4.1 crores. This was a big drop of 66.67 percent compared to earlier weeks. The collections fell heavily after the first few weeks.’Akhanda 2’ is now slowly moving toward the Rs 100 crore mark.
