Islamiyat is a compulsory subject in Pakistan’s school curriculum, focusing on the study of Islam as a religion, its teachings, history, worldview, and civilisation. It covers the Quran, Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad), Islamic ethics, and the religion’s role in society.

This year, over 380,000 students appeared for the Class 9 exam across Punjab, with only 45 per cent passing.

The official results were published online on Wednesday. A special ceremony will be held soon to honour top performers from all nine Punjab education boards, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and others.
