Mumbai News: Thackeray Brothers Hold Joint Rally After Manifesto Release

In Mumbai, the Thackeray brothers, Uddhav and Raj, held a joint rally following the release of their party manifesto ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. Scheduled at 6:00 PM in Vikhroli East, this event marked the first time both brothers appeared together at a public rally since the manifesto announcement. The rally comes at a crucial juncture in Mumbai politics, with major parties attempting to set narratives around Marathi identity, as well as Hindu-Muslim dynamics, ahead of the municipal polls. The Thackeray brothers’ appearance together is seen as a strategic move to consolidate their support base and reinforce the Shiv Sena’s traditional identity politics. Political observers noted that the event also signals the party’s intent to counter emerging rivals, including factions aligned with Eknath Shinde and regional parties like AIMIM, which have sought to challenge Shiv Sena’s influence in Mumbai. While the mayoral outcome will only be clear after the elections, the joint rally aims to energize voters and create momentum for the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction. The manifesto highlights the party’s focus on civic governance, infrastructure, and social welfare, while the public rally emphasizes outreach to voters across different communities. The Thackeray brothers’ coordinated presence is expected to shape campaign dynamics in the upcoming BMC polls.
