QatarEnergy cuts January 2026 fuel: Premium QR1.95, Super QR2, Diesel QR2/Representative Image

QatarEnergy has reduced fuel prices for the start of the new year, making petrol and diesel more affordable for consumers in January 2026. On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, QatarEnergy officially announced the new fuel prices for January 2026. Premium-grade petrol will now cost QR 1.95 per litre, while Super-grade petrol is set at QR 2 per litre, both reflecting a drop from December 2025 rates. Diesel prices have also been cut, and will be available at QR 2 per litre. The price reduction is expected to provide some relief to vehicle owners and businesses, as fuel costs directly affect transportation and operational expenses. This move also aligns with QatarEnergy’s commitment to keeping energy affordable and accessible for residents. With the new rates, Premium-grade petrol is now QR 0.05 cheaper than Super, while diesel matches the price of Super petrol, making it a viable choice for many drivers. The adjustments come as part of QatarEnergy’s routine monthly review of fuel costs, aimed at reflecting changes in global energy markets and domestic demand.
