Dhanashree’s first post after taking a jibe at Chahal’s t-shirt

Dhanashree Verma drops FIRST post after taking a jibe at Yuzvendra Chahal over his 'Be your own sugar daddy' t-shirt, reacts to people calling her 'strong'

Nearly a month after cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal publicly addressed his split from Dhanashree Verma, the actor-dancer has now spoken about her own experience. Chahal and Dhanashree’s divorce got finalised in March this year. On the day of their final hearing, Chahal wore a t-shirt which read, ‘Be your own sugar daddy’ which left everyone curious. He addressed why he wrote that t-shirt on a podcast. Now in a recent interview, Dhanashree reacted to Chahal wearing this t-shirt. She recounted the emotions she felt during their final divorce hearing, while also taking a dig at Chahal for wearing a “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy” t-shirt on that very day. Reflecting on the last day in court, she said during a chat with Humans Of Bombay, “I still remember when I was standing there and the verdict was about to be given. Even though we were so well-prepared mentally, I got so emotional. I started howling in front of everybody. I couldn’t even express what I was feeling at that point. I just kept crying.” She went on to mention that while she was in tears, Chahal quietly exited the courtroom first, which drew even more attention to the moment. What also grabbed headlines that day was Chahal’s choice of attire—a t-shirt emblazoned with “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy.” Dhanashree didn’t hold back in criticising it. “You know that people are going to blame you. Before I had even known that this T-shirt stunt had happened, we were all aware that people were going to blame me for this,” she explained. Adding a touch of sarcasm, she said, “Are bhai, WhatsApp kar deta. T-shirt kyun pehna hai?”Her revelations have drawn divided responses online—some users mocked her, while others applauded her candor. Unbothered by the chatter, Dhanashree recently reshared a follower’s note calling her “truly the most powerful girl,” marking her first social media activity since the interview went viral. She also thanked people for the appreciation after they called her a strong girl for opening up. A while ago, on Raj Shamani’s podcast, the cricketer had said that he wore this t-shirt has he wanted to give out that last message. He also strongly denied speculation about infidelity. “When I was going through the divorce thing, people labelled me as a cheater. I have never cheated. You will not get a more loyal person than me. For my loved ones, I think from my heart. I have never asked, just given,” he asserted.Chahal clarified why both chose silence until the very end: “It was going on for a long while. We decided we do not want to show the people. Until we reached the point of end, we were like a normal couple on social media.”
