Vivek's Hindu religion has nothing to do...: Ramaswamy's challenger says Indian-origin leader spent his life creating culture wars

Dr Amy Acton, the official Democrat candidate to run for Ohio governor against Vivek Ramaswamy, said Vivek’s Hindu religion has nothing to do with the race but he is a person who has spent his life creating culture wars and pitting one against another. Acton said Ramaswamy treats Ohio like a flyover state and flies 90 minutes from Columbus to Cincinnati in his private jet. When you like Ohio, you don’t move your business to Texas, you don’t treat Ohio like a flyover state, Acton said. The comments came as Vivek Ramaswamy triggered another Christmas culture war as he slammed Nick Fuentes and groypers in his recent NYT opinion piece, where he elaborated on what he believes America is. Ramaswamy said that calling Second Lady Usha Vance ‘jeet’ because of her Indian origin — like Nick Fuentes recently did — is not American. Vice President JD Vance too reacted strongly to his wife’s insult by Nick Fuentes, prompting Fuentes to declare war against India on social media. Fuentes also said he would campaign against Vivek Ramaswamy in Ohio as a non-Christian, Indian-origini individual should not be allowed to become the Governor of Ohio; the Guv palace would be celebrating Diwali instead of Christmas, Fuentes said adding that he would oppose Ramaswamy in 2026 to send a message to JD Vance that he has no chance in 2028 presidential election because he is married to an Indian. “People all over this country probably have a good idea of Mr Ramaswamy but in Ohio. I found it very disingenuous. The fact that my opponent is Hindu has absolutely nothing to do with this election. No one’s religion has anything to do with the problems of everyday Ohioans. But this is coming from somebody who literally has spent his life writing books, running his businesses, and purposefully creating culture wars; purposefully pitting us against one another. And I can’t say this enough. I travel the state everywhere. We see incredible people showing up. People are exhausted of being purposefully pitted against one another,” Dr Acton said.
