Aftermath of Stone-Pelting Outside Jaipur Mosque: Police Action Continues, Streets Bear Marks of Violence

The situation remained tense but under control in Jaipur on Saturday as police continued action against those involved in the stone-pelting incident outside a mosque in the rural Chomu area. Visuals from the site, emerging a day after the violence, show the extent of damage caused during the late-night unrest, with stones scattered across the road and shattered glass visible along the stretch. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, around 4:00 am, following a dispute over the removal of stones near the mosque premises. According to police, when authorities attempted to intervene and prevent the situation from escalating, a group of people allegedly resorted to stone pelting. Several police personnel were injured in the attack, forcing the police to take firm measures. To bring the situation under control, security forces conducted a lathi charge and used tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. Multiple police teams have since been deployed in the area, and a selective crackdown is underway to identify and arrest those responsible, using CCTV footage and local intelligence. As a precautionary step to maintain law and order and prevent the spread of misinformation, mobile internet services in the area have been suspended for 24 hours. Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken against the culprits and appealed to residents to maintain peace.
