Yuzvendra, Dhanashree on love and life after divorce

Yuzvendra Chahal - Dhanashree Verma: A look into the former couple’s take on love and life after divorce

Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma, the former couple who faced public scrutiny during their divorce, have opened up about their struggles months after bidding goodbye to each other. While the cricketer shared his unfeigned feelings, the choreographer recently revealed her point of view and the experiences she constantly had to face. As the chaotic perspectives died down on social media, the former couple chose to speak up and keep their feelings ahead in front of fans. However, the 35-year-old and 28-year-old had different experiences with media, career, and narratives. Here’s a glimpse into what Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma said about their divorce and current love life.

About separation and divorce proceedings

In an appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Chahal revealed that the divorce, which might have seemed sudden, was a result of two failed years. When the host asked whether the spinner faked their love and relationship to avoid judgment, the cricketer nodded his head in agreement. Opening about the disastrous relationship, Yuzi stated that a relationship requires compromise, but both of them were extremely busy with their individual careers. “At that point, I was so much into it, I had to give time here, give time there. I was not able to think about the relationship. Then it happens every day, you think, leave it,” he said.Meanwhile, Dhanashree Verma opened up about her divorce during an interview with Humans of Bombay. Talking about the experience, Verma discussed how she felt bad for her parents while she was facing negative comments all over social media. During the vulnerable time, Verma’s friends, team, and her family built a strong wall, letting her lean on support. Are Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma interested in giving ‘love’ another chance?

Chahal claimed to have been loyal towards his partner in the aforementioned podcast, in addition to being scared of loving again. The 35-year-old cited that he is an overthinker and won’t be engaging in love for a while. “Kyuki mei attached dil se hota hu. Phir aap itna attached hote hoh aur cheeze khatam hoti hai woh ek dar baitha hai (I connect through heart. The things end after being attached to a person, that’s the fear I have),” he said, adding that in the end it feels lonely. Meanwhile, Verma is letting her heart breathe and giving it another try to fall in love. “I think we all want love in life. Like, who doesn’t want to be loved? We all do. Somewhere, we all hope, and we all have that faith,” she said. Moreover, she said that ‘self-love’ should be prioritised.
