Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his wife Georgina Rodriguez have acquired two ultra-luxury villas at Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea. Drawn by the destination’s pristine natural beauty, privacy, and year-round adventure opportunities, the couple can now enjoy exclusive family retreats on one of the world’s most luxurious and sustainable island resorts.

Private island living

Nujuma is part of The Red Sea Residences, located on private islands roughly 26 kilometers from the mainland and accessible only by boat or seaplane. The resort features just 19 independent villas designed to provide privacy, luxury, and close contact with nature. Ronaldo and Rodriguez purchased a three-bedroom villa for family use and a two-bedroom villa for shorter stays, making them among the earliest owners.

A personal connection

Ronaldo said the couple immediately felt a deep connection with the destination. “The Red Sea is truly exceptional in every sense,” he said. “From our very first visit, Georgina and I felt a connection with the island and its natural beauty. It’s a place where we find peace and tranquility. Now that we have a home here, we can enjoy quality time with family in complete privacy and serenity whenever we choose.”The couple has been visiting the destination since the first resorts opened in 2023 and continues to explore additional investment opportunities within the project.

Luxury anchored in sustainability

John Pagano, CEO of Red Sea Global, highlighted that their decision reflects the destination’s unique appeal. “We are delighted to welcome Cristiano and Georgina to The Red Sea Residences community,” he said. “Their choice demonstrates the attraction of combining adventure with privacy and luxury with nature.”Nujuma and other Red Sea destinations follow a regenerative approach. By 2040, the project aims to achieve a net positive environmental impact of 30% through restoration and enhancement of coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass beds, and native habitats. All residential facilities are powered by 100% renewable energy.

A fast-growing global destination

The Red Sea currently hosts guests across nine luxury hotels, with Shura Island, its central hub, preparing to open the first of 11 planned resorts, along with a championship golf course, dining venues, retail, and cultural facilities. The Red Sea International Airport provides direct connections to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Doha, and Milan, placing the destination within three hours of 250 million people and eight hours of 85% of the world’s population. As a flagship project under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the Red Sea continues to attract high-profile visitors and investors seeking exclusive living experiences aligned with environmental responsibility.

A year-round retreat

With moderate temperatures year-round, Nujuma offers Ronaldo and Rodriguez a private retreat that combines adventure, relaxation, and family time. The couple’s young family enjoys both land and water activities, while the secluded villas allow them to escape public attention and enjoy the destination’s unparalleled beauty.By owning two villas at Nujuma, Ronaldo and Rodriguez can experience privacy and comfort whenever they visit, while also exploring further ownership opportunities within Red Sea International’s ultra-luxury residential portfolio.
