A video showing the final moments before a fatal car crash involving Call of Duty co-creator Vince Zampella has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention and strong reactions from users online.Several clips circulating online show Zampella driving a Ferrari at high speed moments before the crash. According to the footage, the car exits a tunnel on the Angeles Crest Highway in Southern California, veers off the road on a curve, slams into a concrete barrier and bursts into flames. The video has been described by viewers as disturbing and triggering. Social media users reacted strongly to the footage, with many expressing shock and concern over its circulation. One user commented, “Never go 140 miles an hour in a Ferrari on a curve. This is freaking terrible.”Authorities confirmed that Vince Zampella, 55, died in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon. The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred shortly before 12.45 pm when the southbound Ferrari left the winding two-lane road just after exiting a tunnel in the San Gabriel Mountains north of Los Angeles. Zampella was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger was taken to hospital and later succumbed to injuries.Officials said the exact cause of the crash has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.Zampella was a towering figure in the global video game industry. He co-founded Infinity Ward in 2002 and played a key role in creating the Call of Duty franchise, including landmark titles such as Modern Warfare (2007) and Modern Warfare 2 (2009), which helped redefine first-person shooters and online multiplayer gaming.In 2010, he went on to co-found Respawn Entertainment, later acquired by Electronic Arts. Under his leadership, Respawn developed critically acclaimed games including Titanfall, Titanfall 2, Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. In recent years, Zampella also oversaw Electronic Arts’ work on the long-running Battlefield series.Electronic Arts described his impact as “profound and far-reaching,” calling him a visionary creator who shaped modern interactive entertainment and inspired millions of players and developers worldwide.
