Activists produce ‘docus’ in land case, say no action taken

.

MUMBAI: Activists Anjali Damania and Vijay Kumbhar on Monday demanded that police register an FIR against Parth Pawar and Dy CM Ajit Pawar be asked to resign over the Pune land “scam.” They said despite complaints and evidence, no action was taken by the police or the govt. The two showed text messages among an advocate who was asked to advise on the land deal, the collector (stamps), Ajit Pawar’s two PAs, and an OSD discussing the land and the case. “The messages were shared by the advocate Trupti Thakur with the police and us,” Damania claimed. At a press conference, the activists produced a power of attorney on which Parth Pawar signed alongside the arrested accused in the case, Sheetal Tejwani, the power of attorney holder for the 116 original holders of the Mahar Watan land parcel at Mundhwa. They also produced an authority letter signed by Digvijay Patil, mentioned as a partner of Amadea Enterprises that authorised advocate Thakur to act and represent Amadea in connection with matters related to the land. The two activists also wrote to CM Fadnavis for inclusion of Parth’s name in the FIR and resignation of Ajit Pawar. “Despite complaints and all the evidence, if police and govt will not act, we will have to approach the HC in a PIL where CM Fadnavis, who also holds the home portfolio, will be made the first respondent for not acting on complaints against the Pawars,” they said. Another document on power of attorney was signed in May 2021 between Sheetal Tejwani and Parth Pawar, they alleged. Parth Pawar did not respond to calls from TOI. Meanwhile, the NCP refuted Damania’s allegations. NCP state spokesperson Anand Paranjpe, said, “Damania is known for choosing targets. Her allegations have never been proved in the court of law.”
