Hunt expands for terrorists hiding in Udhampur forests

JAMMU: Security forces in J&K on Monday expanded their search operation to track down terrorists hiding in the forest area of Majalata and adjoining areas of Udhampur district.They said, “The cordon and search operation, which entered its second day, was launched in the Majalta forests after two terrorists reportedly forcibly took food from a house before escaping into the nearby forest area.”“Sniffer dogs and aerial surveillance (drones) were being used in the search,” officials said.A J&K Police’s special operation group (SOG) constable, Amjad Ali Khan, was killed in a gunfight with terrorists in Soan village in the same area on Dec 15, officials said.
