Starting next year, Riyadh commuters and students will have a simpler, more cost effective way to travel across the city as the Public Transport Authority rolls out new ticket options designed for unlimited travel. The Riyadh Public Transport Authority announced on Friday that beginning January 1, 2026, passengers will be able to purchase semester tickets specifically for students, as well as annual tickets available to all travelers. These tickets will allow unlimited trips within the city for a fixed price, offering a practical solution for daily commuters looking to save both time and money. The initiative is part of the authority’s broader plan to upgrade the public transport system and improve the efficiency of mobility across the capital. Officials emphasized that these new ticket products are tailored to meet the needs of passengers while encouraging more people to rely on public transportation. By providing predictable costs and unlimited travel, the authority aims to make commuting smoother and more affordable for residents and students alike. The launch of semester and annual tickets marks a significant step in Riyadh’s ongoing efforts to modernize its transit network and promote convenient, sustainable travel options. Passengers are expected to benefit from both the financial savings and the flexibility offered by these new products, reflecting the city’s commitment to creating a more efficient and accessible transportation system.
