“Most pointless presidential address”: Matt Walsh slams President Donald Trump’s White House speech as empty talk

President Donald Trump spoke to the nation from the White House on Wednesday night, December 17. It was a year-end address where he talked about the economy, inflation, and what he said his administration has fixed so far. He also made one major announcement for U.S. military members. Still, the speech did not impress many Americans, especially online.Donald Trump opened his address by saying the country was in bad shape when he took office. He said, “Eleven months, I inherited a mess, and I’m fixing it.” He blamed the previous Democratic administration for high prices and inflation. Trump added, “When I took office, inflation was the worst in 48 years… making life unaffordable for millions and millions of Americans.”While some supporters praised the speech, many others felt it said very little. Conservative podcaster Matt Walsh reacted strongly on X. He wrote, “That was perhaps the most pointless primetime presidential address ever delivered in American history.” His post quickly went viral, crossing more than one million views with thousands of likes, reposts, and comments. Many users agreed with Walsh. Some called the address a long rant. Others said it sounded like a victory lap instead of a serious update for the country. A few people also pointed out that Trump repeated old talking points without giving clear new plans.

President Donald Trump announces ‘warrior dividend’ bonus for U.S. military

The biggest moment of the speech came when President Donald Trump announced a special holiday bonus for military service members. He said about 1.45 million troops will receive a one-time payment before Christmas.Donald Trump explained the plan by saying, “We are sending every soldier $1,776… Nobody deserves it more than our military.” He called the payment a “warrior dividend,” linking the amount to the year 1776, when the United States was founded. According to CBS News, the bonus will go to eligible members of the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard, mainly at lower and mid-level ranks. The payments are funded through a $2.9 billion military housing allowance budget approved by Congress. Donald Trump ended the address by repeating his promise to strengthen the economy and support the armed forces. But for many Americans, the reaction from Matt Walsh became the main takeaway, with critics saying the speech lacked impact and real substance. Also Read: “W/O A Damn Clue”: Megyn Kelly Rips Bari Weiss After Ben Shapiro Attacks Candace Owens At TPUSA AmFest
