Madhuri Dixit was one of the biggest stars in India during the late 1980s and 1990s. At the height of her career, when her fame was unmatched, she made a bold and personal choice. For Madhuri Dixit, choosing family, peace, and love over stardom was not a sacrifice, it was a dream come true.After marrying cardiovascular surgeon Dr Shriram Nene in 1999, Madhuri moved to the United States and stepped away from the spotlight. For her, this decision was not difficult at all.

“I always thought I was going to get married and I’ll have a house and I’ll have children,” she said in an interview with Mid Day . “When it actually happened, for me, it was like a dream, ” she says.

Life in Denver

Madhuri spoke about spending nearly 12 years in Denver, where she lived a quiet and simple family life. Describing the city, she said, “It’s not a very big city, and it’s not a very small one. It’s a city where health and sports are a top priority.”She added that people there love the outdoors. “People are skiing, there’s Aspen, there’s Vail, and all these mountains,” she shared, calling it an upscale place that feels like a resort.

Settling into a new life

The actress said life in the US was not a shock for her. Since her siblings were already settled there, she knew what to expect. “You’ve got to do everything yourself,” she said, adding that she was prepared and comfortable with that lifestyle.On the work front, Madhuri was last seen in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’.

Motherhood and quiet joys

Madhuri shared how much she enjoyed raising her children away from fame. “I quite enjoyed that quiet time,” she said. She spoke warmly about taking her kids to the park, sitting on the jhoola with them, and spending time together without being recognised.She also loved simple joys like skiing with her children and just being a regular mother.
