Actress Sonakshi Sinha has taken a firm stand against the increasing wave of digital hostility faced by film stars and reviewers, urging for effective cyber laws to curb this menace. She expressed deep concern regarding the psychological impact of unfounded online vitriol, advocating for measures to protect individuals from unwarranted slurs.

Sonakshi Sinha recently attended an event in Mumbai, and a video from the same has been doing the rounds on the internet. In the clip, she can be seen saying, “Jo cheez jissey mujhey aur dikkat hai (the thing that troubles me) is this open attack on people online.”

She added, “I think that is something that we should all work towards putting an end to and try to figure out a solution to that… Ke koi bhi kahin bhi baithkar aapko kuch bhi bol rahe hai, and there is not much people can do about it (that anyone can sit anywhere and say anything about you, and there’s not much people can do about it). I feel we need to have strict laws to control it and keep a check on it.”Recently, several critics who called out Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ for showing hypermasculinity and much more faced backlash on the internet. One of them had to take down the review video after the same.

The actress got married to Zaheer Iqbal in 2024. The couple tied the knot under the Special Marriage Act at Sonakshi’s Mumbai residence, in the presence of their families and close friends. The duo later hosted a reception for their friends from the industry. On the work front, Sonakshi made her debut in Telugu cinema this year. She starred in the film ‘Jatadhara’, directed by Abhishek Jaiswal and Venkat Kalyan. The movie featured Sudheer Babu as the lead. Meanwhile, it also starred Shilpa Shirodkar in a key role. In Bollywood, Sonakshi was last seen in the movie ‘Nikita Roy’, which was released in theaters on July 18, 2025.
