JD Vance's kids annoyed him with viral '6-7' meme, and now he wants to 'ban these numbers forever'

JD Vance seems to be sick of Gen Z shenanigans, especially today’s memes. This particular meme that JD Vance was annoyed by was the most recent ‘6-7’ meme, and it was none other than his own kids that angered the US vice president into ‘banning those numbers.’In a post on X, JD Vance described how frustrating it was when the meme numbers came up in a holy place like a church: “Yesterday at church the Bible readings started on page 66-67 of the missal, and my 5-year-old went absolutely nuts repeating “six seven” like 10 times. And now I think we need to make this narrow exception to the first amendment and ban these numbers forever.”And like most of the internet, the MAGA leader was also confused about where and how the numbers even came from: “Where did this even come from? I don’t understand it. When we were kids all of our viral trends at least had an origin story.”JD Vance is married to an Indian-origin and Hindu Usha, whom he met at Yale Law School. They have three children together: two sons, Ewan (8) and Vivek (5), and a daughter, Mirabel (3).

What is the ‘6-7’ meme?

The “6-7” meme is a viral internet slang phrase from 2025 that literally doesn’t have a real meaning — people say it because it’s funny, random, and gets attention every time a reference has been made. It started from the repeated line “six-seven” in the song Doot Doot (6 7) by rapper Skrilla, and went on to become viral on TikTok and Instagram with clips of basketball star LaMelo Ball (who’s height is 6 ft 7) and a viral video of a kid yelling “six-seven.” People all over now shout it with a goofy hand gesture.
