55-storey Dubai tower named after SRK sold out on launch day

55-storey Dubai tower named after Shah Rukh Khan sold out on launch day, SRK jokes, ‘Apni hi building mein hum hi ko office lene mein takleef ho rahi hai’

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan headlined a glittering evening in Dubai as the Danube Group officially launched Shahrukhz, the 55-storey commercial tower named after him — and already completely sold out.The premium development on Sheikh Zayed Road, priced from AED 2 million per office unit, spans over 1 million sq ft and is valued at AED 2.1 billion (Rs 5,000+ crore). All 488 units were sold before the formal unveiling at Expo City, where more than 6,500 fans gathered to witness the event.

‘Mujhe bhi office nahi milega?’

When founder Rizwan Sajan announced on stage that the entire tower was sold out, SRK — known for his sharp wit — delivered the night’s biggest highlight.“I’m sorry Rizwan bhai, I don’t understand the business of selling and buying… mujhe toh lag raha tha main yahan par aaonga launch karunga… aur phir main aapse ek-do office khareedunga. Mujhe bhi office nahi milega?” he quipped, prompting loud cheers.Sajan replied playfully, “Filhaal toh everything is sold out unless and until…”To which Khan laughed, “Yeh toh kamaal ho gaya hai… apni hi building mein hum hi ko lene mein takleef ho rahi hai.” Rizwan Sajan teased that a second tower named after Shah Rukh Khan is already in the works. “Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost,” he said, adding that similar ‘Shahrukhz’ branded towers are being planned for New York, London, Delhi and Mumbai.

‘Dubai has always embraced me with warmth’

Expressing gratitude, SRK said, “To see a project of this scale in Dubai carry my name is both an honour and a reminder of how generosity and vision can come together… Dubai has always embraced me with warmth.” The event also featured filmmaker Farah Khan and a special performance by Malaika Arora on Shah Rukh Khan’s classic hits.
