In a nostalgic turn of events, viral clips of Akshaye Khanna from ‘Dhurandhar’ have brought to light a throwback to the lavish wedding of Karisma Kapoor. This rekindles whispers of their past romance, where rumors of an engagement were quashed by Karisma’s mother. Fast forward, Karisma wedded Sunjay Kapur in 2003, only to part ways in 2016.

Akshaye Khanna has taken over the internet since the release of ‘Dhurandhar’. His scenes from the film have gone viral on social media. Akshaye Khanna and Karisma Kapoor were supposed to get married. As per the reports, even Randhir Kapoor had agreed to their union. Though both the actors never publicly made any statements about the same.Randhir Kapoor had reportedly sent the marriage proposal to Akshaye’s father, Vinod Khanna. However, Karisma’s mother, Babita Kapoor, was not happy with the pairing. She wanted Karsima, who was at the peak of her career, to focus on the same. Reportedly, she was not happy with Khanna’s career growth as well. And this ended their rumored plans of marriage.

Karisma Kapoor’s marriage

Karisma Kapoor got married to Sunjay Kapur in the year 2003. They welcomed two kids together—Samaira and Kiaan. In 2014, the couple filed for divorce by mutual consent. The court granted them a divorce in 2016. After her ex-husband, Sunjay, passed away due to a heart attack in June this year, the actress has been involved in a case regarding his legal heirs. The actress has been representing her kids in the case. The matter involves Sunjay Kapur’s widow, Priya Sachdev, and his four kids, including Samaira and Kiaan. For the unversed, his reported fortune is worth Rs 30,000 crore.
