The film had its world premiere months earlier in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where viewers praised its heartfelt approach and sensitive storytelling.The film released in Indian cinemas in September this year and was widely praised for its emotional depth and strong performances by Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa. Even though the film received critical acclaim, it did not see a strong run in theatres. After its theatrical run, ‘Homebound’ became available on OTT.
