Residents of the UAE should prepare for a week of changing weather as the country faces cloudy skies, scattered rainfall, and gusty winds. From December 12 to 19, a combination of surface and upper air low pressure systems will influence conditions across the nation, bringing intermittent showers, variable winds, and occasional rough seas. From early in the week, scattered rain is expected in various regions, ranging from light to moderate in intensity. While showers may not be constant, they could appear at intervals, prompting residents to remain cautious when heading outdoors. Cloud cover will be variable, with periods of bright sky alternating with overcast conditions. The cloud systems are linked to an expanding surface low-pressure trough coupled with a deepening upper-air low, which is generating increased atmospheric instability.Winds will generally blow from the southeast to northeast, occasionally shifting toward the northwest. Speeds are forecast to remain light to moderate but may strengthen in areas with heavier cloud cover or convective activity. Stronger gusts could also stir up dust in exposed locations, reducing visibility temporarily.Marine conditions will be similarly dynamic. The Arabian Gulf is expected to experience moderate to rough seas at times, particularly when winds intensify near cloud formations. In contrast, the Sea of Oman will remain relatively calmer, with slight to moderate waves. Authorities advise caution for those planning sea or beach activities during this period.Overall, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has emphasized that the UAE is entering a spell of unsettled weather driven by the interplay of surface and upper-level low-pressure systems. While rainfall may be scattered and winds variable, residents should remain alert to sudden changes in weather, especially in exposed areas and coastal regions.
