In a surprising twist, singer Diljit Dosanjh finds himself embroiled in controversy after a seemingly innocent gesture of touching Amitabh Bachchan’s feet. While he intended to promote awareness for Punjab flood relief, a Khalistani faction has issued threats, accusing him of disregarding Bachchan’s controversial past linked to post-Indira Gandhi unrest.

After Diljit Dosanjh touched Amitabh Bachchan’s feet as a mark of respect, the singer found himself at the center of controversy. A Khalistani outfit condemned Dosanjh’s gesture and issued threats against him. The Chief of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, warned the singer that the group will disrupt his upcoming concert in Australia on November 1.

Diljit Dosanjh drops a cryptic note amidst threats

Now, amidst the buzz around the controversy, Diljit Dosanjh has dropped a cryptic post on his Instagram account. He didn’t address the issue directly but explained why he participated in the show. On his IG Story, the singer wrote in Punjabi, “Na Mai Kisey Film Di Promotion Lai Geya c, Na Kisey Ganey Di Promotion Lai. Punjab Floods Lai Geya C… Ke National Level Te Gal Hove… Te Loki Donate kar Sakan.”

The translation of his message is, “I hadn’t gone there to promote any film or song. I went for the Punjab floods… so that the issue could be discussed at the national level and people could come forward to donate.”

According to the banned Khalistani group, Amitabh Bachchan played a role in inciting violence after former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination. The statement from SFJ read, “By touching feet of Bachchan, the man whose words orchestrated Genocide, Diljit Dosanjh has insulted every victim, every widow, and every orphan of 1984 Sikh Genocide.”As per the group, the megastar had used the slogan “Khoon ka badla khoon (blood for blood)” at that time. Meanwhile, Diljit has not addressed the threats publicly. He is currently busy with his AURA World Tour.
