Fresh panic erupted in Washington DC after heavy gunfire broke out near the White House while former US President Donald Trump was reportedly present inside the Presidential Complex. The dramatic incident has once again intensified concerns over growing threats targeting Trump and the overall security surrounding America’s most protected political figures. According to officials, the suspected attacker, identified as Nasir Best, allegedly fired nearly 20 to 30 rounds near a White House security checkpoint before being shot dead in retaliatory action by United States Secret Service personnel. The suspect reportedly attempted to target the secured perimeter area where officers were stationed. Authorities revealed that the 21-year-old suspect had earlier posted threatening remarks against Trump on TikTok in December 2025. In one alleged post, he claimed that if he had been “the shooter,” Trump “would already be dead.” Investigators also confirmed that the same individual had reportedly attempted to approach or breach White House security zones last year and was believed to be mentally unstable. The shooting caused chaos outside the White House as journalists and media crews covering scheduled briefings were immediately rushed into secure rooms by Secret Service agents after gunshots were heard. Video footage from the scene showed panic and confusion as security teams activated emergency protection protocols. Officials further confirmed that one civilian passerby was critically injured during the incident. However, investigators are still determining whether the individual was hit by bullets fired by the suspect or during the counter-fire operation by security personnel.
